Chapter 1 - Overview¶
Offers CMS:¶
- CMS stands for Configuration Management System.
- CMS is used for creating, updating, deleting, and viewing, i.e., configuring different types of software-related configurations.
- BookMyShow's Offers CMS is used explicitly to configure different offers that are displayed on the platform/site.
- Offers CMS gives a variety of features to configure different types of offers such as Credit Card/Debit Card (CCDC), Promo codes, Unique Promocode, Tempcode, Filmypass, Movie Voucher, Rewards, and Third Party Codes.
Getting access to the CMS:¶
- To get access to the CMS, you will need to request access in the channel #foundation-fmwrk-usrs.
- Follow the below template while requesting:
- Hi, Pankaj Bhatt /the name of any admin available at that moment, Kindly provide access to offers CMS. Environment: SIT/Prod (Your manager will let you know about the environment.) User: @your name Approver: @your manager
Process of publishing offer:¶

The offer publishing process consists of three steps.

Creation of Offers:
- The WebOps team will configure an offer based on the requirement received in the mail via the business team.
- Any queries about the offer should be explicitly cleared with the business team.
- To understand how to configure a specific offer check Chapter 6 : Configurations.
- If you are unable to find a how-to for an offer, please reach out to tech documentation or the offers team.

Saving of Offers:
- Once an offer is configured, the user will click on the save button.

Please check the configuration before saving; as once saved, the system will generate unique codes set during the configuration in the backend. We will discuss how to tackle such a situation Chapter 2. Home - Offer Creation Page
- Publishing of Offers:
- The request will be approved and published by any of the approvers.
- Once published, the offer will be live on the BookMyShow platform

Manual updating process:¶
- If there is a change in any value that is already configured in an existing offer, the change cannot be done on CMS except few fields which we will discuss in the Chapter 2. Home - Offer Creation Page.
- The change has to be conveyed to the offers TPM/tech team via common channels. The team will update the offer construct based on feasibility.
